Quality Checks

Quality Checks

In this module you will learn

It is important to perform regular Quality Checks to ensure accurate results!

a) Internal Quality Control (QC Testing)

Internal quality control using the High and Low known concentrations should be performed in accordance to your hospital policy to assist in checking operator performance, strip integrity and meter reliability.

b) Quality Assurance (External)

Your hospital may be enrolled with an external Quality Assurance program called MediPro which are unknown glucose concentration samples.

Results are provided for each individual meter in the hospital giving you clear and simple information to gauge the accuracy of the meter and as an alert to any problems that may arise.

It gives confidence to the institution that the results obtained on each meter are correct and measured against all other meters in the hospital, as well as all other sites involved in the program providing feedback on your performance versus national data.

There will be text and video to guide you through the process with multiple choice questions at the end of the module for you to gain your competency.
